What To Read When You’re Expecting

There are A LOT of books out there to help with the plethora of questions you may have as your belly grows. All of these books have little nuggets of wisdom, but what books really have your back…and your belly as you edge towards your baby’s arrival?

One of my personal favorites is Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering by Sarah Buckley. When we hear so much negativity around labor, delivery and your early postpartum weeks, this is a fantastic birthy book to reverse that mindset.

Of course, who could go without Ina May Gaskin’s Guide to Natural Childbirth? This is another fantastic book if you have your eyes set on the prize to deliver without interference of medications. I love this book and the earthy mama wisdom attached.

Birth With Confidence by Rhea Dempsey is a wonderful book that can help you realize the importance of choosing the right care providers, recognizing your inner attitude towards ‘pain’ and the importance of finding the absolute best way for you to birth.

Remember ladies, you have choices and no stone should be unturned when getting ready for the marathon of birth! We like to see mamas happy, healthy and feeling your best postpartum. Preparation is the key to success and with knowledge comes the power you will need to have the birth of your dreams!
